Alyangula Police located 473 grams of cannabis packaged and concealed within two 25 litre eskies after checking luggage coming off a commercial flight from Darwin to Groote Eylandt on Sunday 25 January.

The cannabis is estimated to value approximately $47 000 if sold in a remote community

A 48-year-old man was subsequently arrested and charged with possess and supply cannabis.

He was bailed to appear on the Alyangula Court of Summary Jurisdiction on 17 February 2009.
