Katherine Police have arrested a 24-year-old female in relation to drugs located yesterday.
Members from the Katherine Substance Abuse Intelligence Desk and the Dog Operations Unit attended the local Post Office and a short time later, Drug Detector Dog Archie reacted positively to a package.
Subsequently, 55.8 grams of cannabis was found within a small parcel.
The 24-year-old woman attended to collect the parcel and was arrested upon her arrival.
She was charged with possess trafficable quantity of cannabis, supply cannabis and possess cannabis in a public place and bailed to appear in the Alyangula Court at a later date.
Detective Senior Constable Ken Bradshaw said, "The Drug Detector Dogs are a great asset in Katherine, they have made a huge difference to both how we conduct business and to our success.
"We will continue to screen freight moving throughout the Territory in a bid to slow the flow of illicit substances into our communities" he said.
