A man will appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court after drugs worth almost $100,000 were seized at the weekend.

Police from the Drug Intelligence Unit, the Substance Abuse Intelligence Desk, General Duties and the Dog Operations Unit executed a search warrant at a home in Nelson Terrace, Alice Springs on Saturday. Just after midday Police seized 1046 Ecstasy tablets worth an estimated $52,300, and 1.67 kilograms of Cannabis worth an estimated $41,775.

The 22-year-old occupant of the residence was arrested and charged with possessing a commercial quantity of MDMA, possessing a commercial quantity of cannabis and supplying a commercial quantity of a Schedule 2 substance.

He was refused bail and will appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court today.
