Members of the Special Operation Section executed a search warrant at an 8 hectare property in Marrakai at about 10:30 am yesterday.

As a result of the search a hydroponics set up was discovered in the residential area of the property, the following items were seized by police:

118.8 grams of loose cannabis material
Approximately 20 cannabis seedlings
Hydroponics growing equipment
A large cannabis plant weighing 2.36 kilograms
12 gauge double barrel shot gun, .308 Rifle with telescopic sight, double sided knife and a hand grenade
Quantities of Ammunition and military ordinance
Crocodile skull

A 47-yr-old man was arrested and charged with the following offences and bailed to appear in Darwin Magistrates Court on 7 April 2009.

Cultivate prohibited drug
Possess cannabis - trafficable quantity
Possess/use firearm unlicensed
Fail to meet storage requirements
Possessed, used or carried a prohibited weapon
Possess stolen property
Possess protected wildlife

Another male aged 37-years-old will be summonsed to appear in Darwin Magistrates Court at a later date for the following offences.

Cultivate prohibited drug - trafficable
Possess a dangerous drug - cannabis
