Police

Police arrested four men and a woman over the weekend in relation to various drug offences.

Members of the Special Operation Section conducted a search warrant of a Bees Creek residence at about 11:10 am on Friday.

Police located and seized two cannabis plants, 246 grams of loose cannabis material and 19 cannabis cookies weighing about 590 grams. An empty grow room was also located in the shed.

A 59-year-old female will be summonsed for the offences of cultivating and possessing cannabis.

Members from the Drug Enforcement Section also conducted a search warrant of a Humpty Doo house on Friday at about 4.30 pm.

As a result of the search 20.29 grams of MDMA (ecstasy), 27.55 grams of cannabis, and 0.01 grams of amphetamine was seized by police.

Two men aged 19 and 23-years-old were arrested for the possession of a trafficable amount of MDMA and have been bailed to appear in court on 15 September 2009. A 20-year-old man will also appear in court after having been summonsed in relation to possession of cannabis offences.

Just after 12:00am on Saturday morning a 25-year-old man was arrested in relation to drug offences.

Drug Enforcement Section members apprehended the man in Karama and conducted a search of his vehicle.

As a result of the search 15.96 grams of MDMA, 20 grams of methamphetamine and 7.3 grams of cannabis was located.

He has been charged with the following offences and expected to appear in court on 15 September;

Possess trafficable quantity of MDMA
Possess trafficable quantity of methamphetamine
Possess cannabis
