Drowning – Litchfield National Park - 4373560

Police

Police are investigating the drowning of a 30-year-old male at Litchfield National Park.

A call was received at the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre in Darwin at approximately 4:15 pm today that a male had been discovered submerged in water at Wangi Falls.

Batchelor Police and Rangers from the park attended the location.

Two doctors at the scene commenced CPR on the male, however he was declared deceased at the scene.

The process of formal identification is continuing.

Darwin Detectives and Forensic Services members are currently travelling to the location to undertake further enquiries.

A brief will be prepared for the Northern Territory Coroner.
