NT Police have today released the name of the 28-year-old man who was located unconscious in Berry Springs Nature Park on Saturday afternoon.

It is believed the man, Brett Anthony Gallagher, was visiting the park with friends when he disappeared under the water near the falls at approximately 2:15 pm.

When he resurfaced some minutes later, off duty medical staff and Park Rangers performed CPR on the man before St John Ambulance attended and conveyed the man to RDH.

He was later declared deceased.
