Police arrested 20 drink drivers overnight through random breath testing stations across the Territory.
Six were caught in Alice Springs, three each in Ali Curung and Borroloola, two each in Darwin and Ti Tree and one each in Katherine, Nhulunbuy and Jabiru.
The highest reading was recorded in Katherine when a 40-year-old woman was found to be driving with a blood alcohol level of .230 per cent. She was charged with high range drink driving and was bailed to appear in the Katherine Magistrates Court on September 25.
Superintendent Bruce Porter said the number of drink drivers apprehended across the Territory was disappointing.
"Police regularly conduct random breath testing stations throughout the Territory and you would think by now drivers would have got the message. If you drink and drive you will be caught," Supt Porter said.
