Police apprehended a 43-year-old male driving a Toyota Landcruiser on Canobury Circuit in Driver last night. At about 6.00 pm police were responding to an assault in Driver when the man was arrested for driving into a fence. He returned a blood alcohol content reading of 0.280 percent and allegedly spat on one of the arresting officers.

The man will be interviewed in relation to the following offences:

Drive High Range BAC,
Aggravated Assault
Fail to Comply with Restraining Order
Assault Police
Drive Unlicensed
Drive without due care

The man is expected to be charged today.
