Southern Traffic Operations Unit are continuing their investigation into a crash, which resulted in the death of a woman, that occurred on Thursday night (17 September 2009) near Palm Circuit on the Stuart Highway, South of Alice Springs.

The deceased, a 63-year-old female, was located on the South bound lane of the Highway at approximately 9:55 pm by a passing motorist.

It is believed that the victim was struck by a vehicle as she crossed the road at approximately 9:40 pm.

Police are appealing for information from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have been in the vicinity of Palm Circuit, South Stuart Highway area at approximately 9:40 pm to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
