Daly River Police can confirm that a large saltwater crocodile was shot early this morning by a local traditional owner.

Police cannot confirm whether it was the same saltwater crocodile that was shot by police on Wednesday afternoon in water about 20 metres from the back door of a house in the community.

The incident today was in the same location and no carcass has been recovered to assist police in identifying whether it was the same animal.
