Crash – Pine Creek

Police

A 73-year-old male was flown to Royal Darwin Hospital yesterday after the vehicle he was driving rolled.

It is alleged that the driver and four passengers were travelling in a Toyota Troop Carrier along the Stuart Highway when the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to travel off the road and roll, approximately 15 km's North of Emerald Springs.

The 73-year-old driver was airlifted to Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

All four passengers aged between 41 and 67 years of age were also taken to Royal Darwin Hospital. Two have been discharged and a 45 and 52-year-old remain in a stable condition.

It is believed that fatigue may have been a contributing factor in the crash and investigations are continuing.
