Katherine Police are investigating the disappearance of a 28-year-old male in Katherine.

Peter Phillips was last seen about 9:00 am Saturday morning. His vehicle was located by police, around 2:00 pm just North of Katherine.

Peter is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 177 cms tall, medium build and short blonde hair.

He is currently believed to be in an area of scrubland about 10 kilometres North of the Katherine township. A Search for him was conducted throughout the afternoon by local police and NTES staff and included. Other resources used also included the use of a helicopter. The search is expected to continue Sunday morning with TRS officers joining the search.

Police hold concerns for Peter's welfare and urge anyone with information into his whereabouts, to contact them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
