Police and fire crews from Tennant Creek were called to the scene 40 kilometres west of the Barkly Homestead just before 11am on Saturday. Witnesses said the driver of the Holden station wagon was travelling west when he lost control of the vehicle after one of the rear tyres had a blow-out.
The 31-year-old male driver and two female passengers aged 31 and 23 escaped with minor injuries, however a 28-year-old male rear-seat passenger sustained suspected spinal injuries.
Fire crews removed the roof of the vehicle to allow paramedics to access the man before he was taken to Tennant creek Hospital by ambulance. He has since been medivaced to Alice Springs and then on to Royal Adelaide Hospital.
Police investigations into the crash are continuing.
