A 30-year-old man will be summonsed to appear in court following a car crash on Larapinta Drive this morning.

At approximately 2am police received a report of a car crash involving a white Toyota Corolla and a white Hyundai Excel.

It appears the man, who was driving a Toyota Corolla was exiting the Haven Resort on Larapinta Drive and has turned right into the outbound traffic lane.

He continued travelling into oncoming traffic, causing a head-on collision with a white Hyundai Excel, driven by a 19-year-old female.

Although the vehicles involved received extensive damage, both drivers and the man's three male passengers, received only minor injuries and were taken to the Alice Springs Hospital.

The man's three male passengers aged 23, 25 and 30 received only minor injuries.

The man later returned a positive roadside breath test and is summonsed to appear in the Alice Springs Magistrate Court at a later date.
