Police are investigating the assault of three people in two unrelated incidents in the Palmerston area over the last 24 hours.

At approximately 10:30 am yesterday morning, it is alleged that a pregnant 26-year-old female stepped out of her vehicle that was parked at the Palmerston Library and was approached by a male who asked her for money.

She declined and as a result, was punched to the face and abdomen.

The victim was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital to receive treatment and was later released.

The offender fled the scene, however was described to be of Aboriginal appearance, aged approximately 25 years, thin build, clean shaven and had short dark hair.

At the time of the offence he was wearing long blue shorts and no shirt.

In a separate incident, two males were walking along Lorna Lim Terrace at approximately 4:00 am this morning when they were approached by three males on bicycles.

The cyclists, described to be of Caucasian appearance and aged between 15 and 20 years, then assaulted the victims and stole their personal items including mobile phones, wallets and jewellery.

One of the males, a 32-year-old, was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital to receive treatment.

Police urge anyone that may have witnessed either of these events, or who may have encountered similar behaviour from anyone matching the above descriptions, to contact them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
