Assault on Taxi Driver – Ludmilla - 4394662

Police are investigating the assault that occurred on a taxi driver in Ludmilla at approximately 9:30 pm last night.

It is alleged that the 63-year-old male taxi driver attended a residence on Daniels Street and collected a male passenger.

Shortly after starting to drive towards Casuarina the driver was stabbed to the chest and arm area.

The victim then drove to the McDonalds car park where he set off a duress alarm in his vehicle, after which the offender fled the scene on foot.

The male was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

The offender is described as being of aboriginal appearance, approximately 20-30 years of age, dark eyes, solid build; approximately 175 cm's tall and at the time of the offence, was wearing a dark shirt.
