A 23-year-old man has been charged in relation to an assault on a police officer near Alice Springs on Tuesday.

The man has been charged with aggravated robbery, recklessly endangering life and causing serious harm, assault police, aggravated unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving and numerous other traffic offences.

He has been remanded in custody to appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court on Monday.
