A 47-year-old male was assaulted on Victoria Drive in Gray at approximately 12:30 am last night.

It is alleged that the man was sitting at a bus stop when he was approached by 4-5 male juveniles asking for a cigarette. When the request was refused he was assaulted by at least two of the juveniles, inflicting facial injuries.

The man attended the Palmerston Police Station and was conveyed by Ambulance to Royal Darwin Hospital.

The offenders are alleged to be of Aboriginal appearance aged from 9 to16-years-old.

Police are urging anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident, or has information that could assist police in identifying the alleged offenders, to call 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
