Arrests for vehicle thefts - Darwin

Two more people have been arrested for a series of vehicle thefts in Darwin last week.

Members of the Commanders Tactical Team and the Youth Crime Unit yesterday arrested two males, both aged 15, in relation to a number of vehicle thefts.

The first youth was allegedly involved in the theft of a quad bike from a maintenance shed at the Royal Darwin Hospital on May 10. He was arrested in Leanyer yesterday and has been charged with aggravated unlawful use of a motor vehicle. He has been bailed to appear in the Youth Justice Court today.

The other youth was arrested at his Alawa home yesterday in connection with a series of offences in which two vehicles were stolen and later found destroyed by fire.

He has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and driving disqualified.

He has been bailed to appear in the Youth Justice Court today (Friday May 15.)

The arrests bring to four the number of people apprehended for this series of offences and investigations are continuing.
