Arrest - Unlawful use of motor vehicle

Members of the Commanders Tactical Team arrested two 15-year-old male youths in relation numerous offences.
It is alleged the youths stole the station's Toyota Hilux fire fighting utility from Brahiminy Youth Group at Eva Valley at about 2:30 am on Wednesday.

The offenders drove this vehicle to Tracy Village Sports Club in Lyons where they unlawfully entered the building stealing seven cartons of alcohol and two charity money tins. A short time later the youths consumed the alcohol at a park in Alawa.

At about 10:00 pm that night the youths stole a Mazda van from the Nightcliff Sports Club before dumping the vehicle a short time later at Charles Darwin University.

One of the youths was apprehended in Alawa at 10:30pm Wednesday night and the other at 1:00 am yesterday at Minmarama Park.

Both youths have been remanded in custody to appear in the Youth Justice Court on 8 August 2009 in relation to the following offences:

Unlawful use of motor vehicle for the commission of an offence
Driving Offences
Aggravated Unlawful Entry
Stealing
Criminal Damage
