Arrest - Unlawful entry - Leanyer

Police

Members of the Commander's Tactical Team (CTT) have arrested a 26-year-old male in relation to an unlawful entry that occurred at Shoal Bay Waste Depot in Leanyer last week.

It is alleged that the offender gained entry between Thursday evening and Friday morning by cutting through a gate at the location and entering the office area.

A safe containing a quantity of money was removed as the male fled the scene.

CTT members arrested the male yesterday at a residence in Woodroffe.

He has since been charged with:

Aggravated unlawful entry
Stealing
Criminal damage
Possess cannabis (trafficable quantity)
Supply cannabis to another
Resist arrest.

He was remanded in custody and is to appear in the Darwin Magistrate's Court today.

Sergeant Andy Bedwell said that this was a great effort for all members involved.

"Police from the Dog Operations Unit, Territory Intelligence Division and Palmerston General Duties were also involved in locating this male and I'd like to thank them all for their efforts given that he was actively avoiding police.

"Once again, this proves to any offenders across the Territory that we will do everything within our powers to apprehend them for any crimes committed" he said.
