Arrest - unlawful entry - Humpty Doo

Members from the Commander's Tactical Team have arrested a man in relation to an unlawful entry and stealing incident at a Humpty Doo service station last week.

Police received a report just before 2.30am on 11 August of activated security alarms at United Petroleum service station. It is alleged the offender jimmied open a roller door to gain access and fled the scene with about $1000 worth of cigarettes and a Guide Dog charity box.

The 23-year-old male offender attended the Darwin Police Station yesterday at about 6:30pm and was subsequently arrested. He made full admissions in relation to the incident and has been charged with the following:

Unlawful entry of a building at night
Damage property
Stealing

The man was bailed to appear in Darwin Magistrate's Court on 10 September 2009.
