Arrest for the Supply of a Volatile Substance – Alice Springs - 4312702

Police

A man will face court later this month on charges of supplying a volatile substance to three teenagers in Alice Springs.

Police received a report just after 9am on Monday 8 June of an unlawful entry at Mitre 10 on Wilkinson Street.

Security footage from the building shows a 28-year-old man and three teenage girls ages 13, 16 and 17 unlawfully entering the building and stealing a quantity of glue.

It appears the group then returned to Larapinta Valley Camp where the man distributed the glue to the three juveniles.

Police believe the three girls broke into Mitre 10 the following night (9 June) stealing a quantity of glue and attempted to break in a third time (10 June) before being disrupted by a security officer.

The man has been charged with unlawful entry, stealing and supplying a volatile substance and has been bailed to appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court on Tuesday 25 August.

The three teenagers have been arrested and charged with unlawful entry and stealing and will face juvenile diversion.
