Police arrested a 22-year-old male in relation an incident that occurred at the Parap Hotel yesterday.

Members received reports at around 2:00 pm stating that an armed male had stolen alcohol from the premises.

It is alleged that the male attended the drive through bottle shop and removed three bottles of alcohol from the shelf, before walking off.

Staff followed him and recovered the alcohol however the male then fled the scene.

Police located him a short time later on Parap Road carrying three spears.

He was conveyed to the Darwin Watch House and has since been charged with armed with an offensive weapon and going armed in public and has been bailed to appear in the Darwin Magistrate's Court 2 July.
