Shortly after midnight City Safe members in Edmunds St observed what appeared to be a drug transaction between a male and a female. At the same time police were advised that the male person was earlier supplying illicit drugs at a city nightclub.

The male was arrested as he was attempting to dispose of a quantity of powder contained within a plastic bag.

The offender was found to be in possession of an access card to a room at a city hotel, he also had a large quantity of cash in his possession.

A Search Warrant was executed at the hotel room and 22 grams of methamphetamine was located.

Members of the Drug Enforcement Unit have interviewed the 23-year-old man and he has been charged in relation to the following offences:
Possess Schedule 2 Substance (Trafficable quantity)
Supply Schedule 2 Substance
Resist Arrest
