A 30-year-old man has been arrested in relation to a disturbance that occurred at a licensed premises last night.
Police were called to the Humpty Doo Hotel about 8.00 pm to remove a patron who was allegedly refusing to leave. Two members attended and asked the man to leave but he became extremely aggressive towards the officers and attempted to assault one of them.
Due to the large number of patrons in the premises at the time, and the situation potentially getting out of control, extra police units attended.
Members attempted to subdue the man with OC Spray and when this failed a Taser was deployed and the man was arrested without further incident.
He was conveyed to the Darwin Watch House and is expected to be charged later today.
