Armed robbery – Malak

Casuarina Investigation Unit detectives are investigating an armed robbery that occurred last night in Malak.

At about 8.30 pm two males entered the Malak Video 2000 shop and one approached the 28-year-old male employee whilst the second male ran behind the counter and attempted to open the cash register.

The first offender allegedly threatened the employee with a knife and the second offender managed to open the cash register and removed a quantity of money. Both offenders then left the shop.

Police were notified and attended along with crime scene officers.

One offender is described as:

Of Caucasian appearance
183 cm tall
Slim build
Aged mid to late teens
Wearing a dark green t-shirt
Dark blue 3/4 length shorts and a black shirt wrapped around his face

The second offender is described as:

Of Caucasian appearance
Wearing a brown t-shirt, black knee length shorts with a white stripe down the sides and a black shirt wrapped around his face

Police are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the incident, or has information that could assist police to identify the offenders, to call them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
