Armed robbery – Katherine

Katherine Detectives and General Duties' members arrested an 18-year-old male today in relation to an armed robbery that occurred at the BP service station on Katherine Terrace.

It is alleged at about 6.30 am the male entered the service area with a shirt over his head. After taking various products from the shelves he allegedly flashed a toy pistol held in the waistband of his shorts at the console operator before fleeing from the area.

The male was found a short time later allegedly in possession of a silver 'cap gun' and the products from the service station.

He was conveyed to the Katherine Police Station and later charged with armed robbery - while armed with an offensive weapon and bailed to appear in the Katherine Court on 29 April.
