Casuarina Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place at the Caltex Service Station in Jingili this morning.
Shortly after 7.00 am this morning a man entered the Caltex Service Station Jingili, the man produced a knife and demanded money from the female console operator. He left the store with a quantity of cash and fled the scene on a small purple coloured BMX bike.
The bike was located a few hundred metres from the service station near the cemetery, a police sniffer dog was brought in but was unable to locate a scent to track. It is believed the male may have left the cemetery area on another bike and headed in the direction of the Jingili Water Gardens.
The offender is described as a tall Caucasian male of medium to solid build, at the time of the offence he was wearing a pair of dark jeans, a dark coloured shirt and a dark 'Crocodile Dundee' style cowboy hat. Police are examining CCTV footage to confirm the two matters are related.
Police urge any one who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area or could assist police with their investigation to contact 131 444 or Crime Stopper on 1800 333 000.
