Police arrested a 24-year-old male in Elliot yesterday morning in relation to the alleged sexual assault of a 14-year-old female.

The offender was conveyed to Katherine watch house where he was interviewed and charged with the following;

Gross indecency involving a child under 16 years
Maintain sexual relationship with a child under 16 years
Indecent dealing with a child under 16 years

He was denied bail and remanded in custody to appear in Katherine Court on 26 March.
