Aggravated assault – Ludmilla - 4394521

Police

Police are investigating an aggravated assault that occurred at approximately 4:30 pm this afternoon.

It is alleged that the offender, a 39-year-old male, assaulted a 13-year-old male at the United Fuel Station on Bagot Road near McDonalds.

The 39-year-old has been arrested and detained while further investigations are carried out by Detectives.

The victim suffered head injuries and is currently being treated at Royal Darwin Hospital.

Crime scenes have been established at the United Fuel Service Station footpath and 100 metres North (toward McMillans Road) and are currently being examined by forensic service personnel.

The arrested male was wearing a yellow t-shirt and police appealing for anyone who witnessed the assault or sighted the pair walking along Bagot Road between BP Ludmilla and United Fuel to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

"This is a particularly concerning attack upon a child causing harm. I would urge any person with information to call Police" said Territory Duty Superintendent Michael Murphy.
