Police are investigating the assault of an 18-year-old man in Jingili on Friday night.

At about 8:00 pm it is alleged the man arrived at a house in Coconut Grove and informed a family member he had been assaulted by three males at the Jingili water gardens.

It is alleged the victim was at the water gardens when he was kicked and hit in the head with a stick.

It is believed the offenders are known to the victim.

The man was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital by Saint John Ambulance with suspected head injuries and was discharged on Saturday.

Police are continuing investigations and urge any one who may have witnessed the assault or can provide further information to contact them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
