Darwin Police are investigating the assault of a 20-year-old female over the weekend.

It is alleged the woman was walking to her car on Mitchell Street in Darwin City at about 2:00 am on Sunday morning when the attack occurred.

She was approached by three males in the vicinity of Hogs Breath Cafe when one of them produced a knife and threatened her before demanding her hand bag. The victim threw her bag to the ground and fled the scene.

The main offender is described as:
165 cm
Wearing dark blue jeans
Red T shirt
Black base ball cap
Watch on his left arm

The other two are described as
170 cm
Wearing dark pants
One wearing a base ball cap

Police urge any one who may have witnessed the attack or have further information to assist police to call them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
