ACPO of the Year 2008

Police

The Commissioner is pleased to announce that the 2008 recipient of the Administrator's Medal for Aboriginal Community Police Officer (ACPO) of the Year is Senior ACPO Noel Dixon of Borroloola.

Senior ACPO Dixon has been a member of the NT Police Force since he joined as a Police Aide back in 1989 and in May this year he celebrated 20 years of service in the Police force.

Noel has served within Borroloola for the duration of that time and, as one of the Northern Territory's longest serving ACPO's, has proved to be a valuable member of the Borroloola community and the wider NT Police community.

In addition to his Police service, Noel is also a Borroloola elder, a Northern Land Council board member, a local school council member and a committee member for the Borroloola Rodeo.

His wife Jeanette and daughters Noelene, Virginia and Amelia, along with a number of grand children, extended family members and Borroloola Police members are all very proud of him and his achievements.

NT Police Commissioner Paul White and His Honour the Administrator of the Northern Territory, Mr Tom Pauling AO QC will attend Borroloola in August to present the Medal to Senior ACPO Dixon in front of the community he has served loyally for an extended period of time.
