Pursuit – Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have apprehended two youths following a vehicle pursuit in Alice Springs over the weekend.

Police allege a vehicle was stolen from an address in Alice Springs sometime between 8:00pm and 11:30pm on Sunday 9 June 2019.

The vehicle was later located by a Dog Operations Unit patrol group on Telegraph Terrace and a pursuit was commenced.

The pursuit continued across Alice Springs through to Schwartz Crescent where the vehicle was abandoned. The alleged offenders fled from the vehicle into bushland near Anzac Hill.

Police cordons were set up and Patrol Dog Loki was deployed. Loki successfully tracked down a 14-year-old female and 17-year-old male and both were taken into police custody.

They were charged with unlawful use of motor vehicle, drive motor vehicle while unlicensed, driving in a dangerous manner pursuit and breach of bail.
