Arrests – Unlawful Entries – Rural Area

Strike Force Trident have arrested three youths following unlawful entries in the rural area.

Police allege unknown offenders unlawfully entered a Moulden residence and stole a vehicle between 5:00pm on 31 August and 3:00am on 2 September. The stolen vehicle was used to commit further unlawful entries at various businesses at Acacia and Coolalinga early yesterday morning. The offenders stole items including a cash till, donation box and food items.

Within minutes of the unlawful entries occurring, responding police located the stolen vehicle travelling on the Stuart Highway in the vicinity of Acacia. The vehicle failed to stop and police commenced a pursuit. Police successfully deployed a Tyre Deflation Device on Finn Road and the vehicle came to a stop on Hopewell Road. Three vehicle occupants were sighted running into bushland.

Later in the morning, Strike Force Trident located three male youths at various residences across Palmerston and placed them under arrest.

A 15-year-old male was charged with:

  • 2x Aggravated Unlawful Entry Of Business Premises
  • 2x Damage To Property
  • 2x Stealing
  • 1x Aggravated Unlawful Use Of A Motor Vehicle

A 14-year-old male is expected to be summonsed at a later date and another 14-year-old male will be considered for youth diversion.

Investigations continue and further arrests are expected to be made.
