Youth Charged - Alice Springs

Police

Police have arrested and charged a 15-year-old male in relation to a series of property offences during the past month.

Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Malley said the youth was arrested in the company of another known property offender in possession of a number of stolen items.

“This is an excellent result and will have a big impact in reducing property crime in Alice Springs.

“He has been charged with 22 offences in relation to 10 separate incidents, his charges include:

Unlawful use of a motor vehicle (x4)

Aggravated unlawful entry with intent to commit an offence (x3)

Stealing (x3)

Damage to property (x2)

Receiving stolen property (x2)

Breach of bail (x2)

He’s been remanded in custody to appear 11 March.

“Police urge members of the public to be vigilant when it comes to home security and ensure their doors are locked and valuables are stored away. Utilising applications like Find My iPhone or iPad can also assist Police in locating stolen property.” Detective Senior Sergeant Malley said.
