Alice Springs Police are investigating an alleged assault that occurred outside Lasseter’s Casino last night.

Acting Senior Sergeant Drew Slape said Police responded to reports of an aggravated assault at around 1:00am.

When Police responded, a 28-year-old man was located unconscious after being punched and subsequently falling to the ground, striking his head.”

The male was taken to Alice Springs Hospital to receive treatment for injuries to his head and was later released.

“This type of incident highlights the dangers involved with irresponsible behaviour when drinking. This had the potential to be far more serious than it was.”
