Serious Assault - Alice Springs - Update

Detectives from the Southern Investigations Division have charged all three men in relation to a serious assault outside an Alice Springs entertainment venue on Saturday 1 December 2012.

Detective Sergeant Janelle Snigg said three men aged 20, 21 and 22 have been charged over the serious assault which took place on Todd Street.

“The two men aged 21 and 22 have been charged with unlawfully causing serious harm and bailed to appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court on 27February 2013,” said Detective Sergeant Snigg.

“The 20-year-old man was charged with unlawfully causing serious harm on Sunday 2 December and has been remanded to appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court on 27 February 2013.

“Detectives seized CCTV footage from nearby businesses which led to identifying the alleged offenders after an extensive investigation.

“I would like to thank the members of the public for their assistance and also the businesses for providing the CCTV to investigators.

“The 33-year-old male victim has been flown from the Alice Springs Hospital to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.”
