Call for Public Assistance - Assault - Gray

Police

Police are calling for public assistance in relation to an assault that occurred opposite Gray Shops in Palmerston.

Detective Sergeant Len Turner said at around 8:30pm on December 4 a 52-year-old man was approached by two men as he walked home with his shopping.

“The two men assaulted the victim and demanded he hand over his personal belongings before removing the contents from his wallet.

“A Buslink bus driver witnessed what was occurring and stopped to assist the victim by allowing him to climb on board his bus.  Police wish to speak to the passengers that were on the bus at that time.”

Police are looking for two men of indigenous appearance with dark skin. The first man is described 175cm -185cm, strong build, weighing around 90-100kg. He had black short hair and was wearing a dark coloured shirt and dark coloured jeans. The second man is described as approximately 170cm.
