Call for witnesses of assault - Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police Force is urging witnesses to an assault in which a man was rendered unconscious after being struck to the head in Todd Street, to come forward.

Detectives from the Southern Serious Crime Division are investigating the assault, which occurred out the front of a licenced premises just before 2am on Thursday July 11.

The fight between two men started after a verbal argument near the Todd Street Taxi rank before both men engaged in a physical altercation which moved into the middle of the road where one man was rendered unconscious.  

Police and St Johns Ambulance arrived on scene and transported the man to the Alice Springs Hospital where he remains in a serious stable condition.
