Sexual assault –Alice Springs

Police are investigating an alleged sexual assault which occurred in the staff car park at an Alice Springs hotel.

Police received a report from an 18-year-old woman on New Year's Day that she had been assaulted about 1.45am at Lasseter's Casino. The woman told police she had been at the casino and gone to the rear of the building to the staff car park to wait for her boyfriend to finish work. The woman sat in her boyfriend's car and was approached by a Caucasian male.

The woman told police the male told her he had a knife and forced her to have oral sex with him. The offender fled the scene when he heard people approaching.

The woman told police the offender was a Caucasian male, aged in his late teens or early 20s with thick curly sandy-coloured hair. He was wearing denim jeans and a short sleeved blue and green check shirt.

Police have today issued a Comfit of the man and anyone with information is asked to phone police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
