July 20, Alice Spring vertical rescue team was mobilised after a man was injured hiking through Mt Gillen.
St John’s Ambulance paramedics met NTES crew at an access track to Mt Gillen, accompanying the crew along with members from NT Police & NTFRS to the injured man.
After assessing the casualty St John’s paramedics confirmed the injured man would need to be stretchered down Mt Gillen.
NTES members Tim, Caroline, Bob, Gordon, Cameron and lead by Unit Officer Ian Smith worked with NTFRS members Keith Hutton and Dean Keenan and St John’s paramedics descending Mt Gillen with the injured man.
The rescue team took caution as the casualty was a large, heavy set man proving again, you can’t pick your casualty!
