Sergeant Chris Brand rallied his team to come along and let the kids, who all have moderate to severe disabilities, sit on the bikes and pat the horses.

“It was a great thing to do and we really enjoyed going and seeing the smile on all the kid’s faces made it worthwhile.

It’s also a good opportunity for us to engage and let them know that we’re good guys and they can talk to us,” he said.

Principal of Acacia Hill School, Wendy Haynes said it’s important for their students to have these opportunities to engage with members of the community and try new things.

"Everyone at Acacia Hill School appreciated this positive visit by NT Police. It was wonderful opportunity for our students to 'get up close and personal' to the very patient horses, to sit on the motorbikes and to chat with the police officers.

The look on Isaac's face when the motorbike fired up when he was sitting on it was priceless! We look forward to future visits," she said.
