Charges - Unlawful Entries - Alice Springs

A 17-year-old youth has been arrested and charged in relation to a number of criminal offences committed across Alice Springs this month.

It is alleged the 17-year-old male and a 15-year-old co-offender unlawfully entered a business on the south Stuart Highway on October 15 where he stole various items and caused significant damage to the property.

In the early hours of October 18, it will be alleged the same two youth returned to the same business and unlawfully entered the premises causing further damage to property and stealing a quantity of alcohol.

Between 6:15pm and 7pm on October 23, it is alleged the two youth unlawfully entered a property on Ross Highway and stole a purple Holden Commodore, an amount of cash and various bank cards. The vehicle was then witnessed recklessly driving at a nearby town camp.

On Wednesday the 17-year-old youth was arrested by officers from Strike Force WINX and the Dog Operations Unit. He will face the charges (listed below) and police bail has been refused.

  • 4 x Stealing
  • 3 x Damage to property
  • 1 x Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Motor vehicle
  • 2 x Receive stolen property
  • Drive unlicensed
  • Drive reckless
  • Trespass

He is scheduled to appear before the Alice Springs Youth Justice Court later today. The 15-year-old boy remains in custody and assisting police with enquiries.
