Police targeting behaviour in Darwin CBD

Wednesday 28-Nov-2018 15:10

Over the last week, members of the Darwin Metropolitan Social Order Engagement Unit (MSOEU) have been actively targeting anti-social behaviour and secondary alcohol supply in and around the CBD.

These concentrated efforts have resulted in nine arrests for disorderly behaviour and 91 persons taken into protective custody. 401 litres of alcohol that was purchased for public consumption or secondary supply has been seized and destroyed.

Acting Superintendent Crispin Gargan said anti-social behaviour has been a key concern for the city area and the MSOEU has been working hard to make the city a safer place and reduce alcohol related harm.

“We will use all the tools available to us, including the new CCTV units, undercover officers and co-ordinated operations to target those who continue to abuse alcohol and participate in anti-social behaviour in and around the CBD,” he said.

We are committed to stopping those who contribute to alcohol related harm in the community.”

There is no place in this beautiful city for a person’s unlawful activities to disturb the peace and business of others.”
