Friday 04-Aug-2017 14:50

Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses to a road crash involving a motorcycle on Bagot Road last night.

Detective Senior Sergeant Brendan Lindner said officers were called to the crash at the Nightcliff Road intersection at 11.22pm.

“It appears the rider failed to negotiate the right bend at the Nightcliff Road intersection, where he collided with the kerb and tumbled from his motorcycle.

“A number of nearby residents heard the crash and came out to render assistance – we thank those people.

“The investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing.  The rider remains in a serious condition in hospital,” he said.

Detective Senior Sergeant Lindner said early indications suggest speed may have been a factor.

Anyone who saw the crash, or who may have seen the motorcycle in the minutes leading up to the crash should contact police on 131 444.
