Three Youths Arrested – Unlawful Entry – Yarrawonga

Northern Territory Police have arrested three youths and continue to investigate a series of unlawful entries in the Yarrawonga area.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said the break-ins included a bicycle shop that was unlawfully entered two nights in a row. 

“On Tuesday 22 September, it is alleged an unknown number of offenders gained access to the premises by smashing a glass window. Five bikes were stolen along with a quantity of cash. 

 

“Members attended and located the bikes dumped a short distance away.

 

“On Wednesday night, again an unknown number of offenders gained access to the premises by smashing another glass window. A total of eight bikes were stolen along with six pairs on riding gloves totalling $23,000.”

“Police attended and located three youths riding on brand spanking new bicycles. The youths were arrested and are currently assisting Police with their investigation.

“Enquires are currently being made to locate the outstanding property, and security at the premises has since been upgraded.

“Along with these break-ins, Police also attended unlawful entries at an engineering premise, a beauty salon, a sign writers and hair dressing salon in the same area. This is a timely reminder for businesses to check their security systems.
