Aggravated Unlawful Entry – Alice Springs

Alice Springs Police have taken several people into custody following an aggravated unlawful entry overnight.

The occupants of a property on Dixon Road were woken by noises at about 2:00am. On investigating they were confronted by an intruder who allegedly assaulted them before fleeing the property in a vehicle that had been stolen from another location earlier in the night.

At 2:30am Police received a report from a taxi driver claiming to have been run off the road by a vehicle matching the description of the stolen vehicle.  

Another report was received at the same time of the stolen vehicle crashing near Bloomfield Street. The occupants of the vehicle were seen fleeing the site. Around the same time there was a report of an unlawful entry to a business on Todd Mall.

About an hour later a female handed herself in to Police and is assisting Police with enquiries.

Through accessing CCTV footage and information received, Police have since apprehended a further three males and two females who are assisting Police with their investigations into these events and other recent incidents in Alice Springs.
